What is the NRS (603A)?

What is the NRS (603A)?

NRS stands for Nevada Revised Statutes.

Chapter 603A  contains the rules about the security and privacy of personal information.  It gives consumers the right to opt-out of selling their personal information. Unlike other laws in the US,  it does not require a website to provide a conspicuous link to the opt-out right. Instead, it does require a website to describe or offer the opt-out process in the Privacy Statement or on the Opt-out Preferences page. This requirement applies whether a website currently sells personal information or not. Therefore, a website must honour those opt-outs with respect to any future sale.
