Heads up: Soft Cookie Wall – Focus Trap Issue After Consent (v7.5.7)

We want to give you a quick heads-up about a bug we’ve identified in the cookie banner’s soft cookie wall feature.

What’s happening?

After a visitor accepts or dismisses the cookie banner, the focus trap that is used to keep keyboard navigation within the banner while it’s active was incorrectly re-triggering during page navigation. This caused all links on the page to become unresponsive for keyboard and some pointer-based interactions after consent had already been given.

Who is affected?

This issue only affects sites that have the soft cookie wall option enabled. If you are not using the soft cookie wall, your site is not affected.

What are we doing about it?

We have identified the root cause and a fix is already in place. A patched version will be released shortly. We recommend updating as soon as it becomes available.

In the meantime

If the issue is causing problems on your site, you can temporarily disable the soft cookie wall from the Complianz banner settings until the patched version is available.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our support team.
