CSS Lesson #19: The Minimal Bottom Banner Revisited

Some things have changed in Complianz 7.0. The simple bottom banner is no longer available as a template, but don’t worry. With the right settings and some custom CSS you can get there again. Let’s first walk through the cookie banner settings.

Cookie Banner settings

For the minimal approach, you’ll need to set your categories to Accept / Deny. This can be done in Consent Banner > General > Categories.

For the position, head over to Consent Banner › Appearance › Position and select Bottom.

Make sure you don’t have the following features enabled in Consent Banner › Appearance :

  • Close button

  • Title

  • Box shadow on header and footer

While you’re there, scroll down and set the Border radius to 0px across all values.

Whether to show policy links on the banner is entirely up to you, Legal document links on banner is optional, but showing them is always suggested.

Cookie message

If you want to update the default wording, go to Consent Banner › Text › Cookie message and use something like:

We use cookies to optimize our website and our service.

You can append your policy links directly in the WYSIWYG editor within the same field.
